John Stracquadanio

John Stracquadanio is a seasoned financial executive with over three decades of leadership in global capital markets, investment strategy, and business operations.

Before founding Appia Ventures, John spent a decade at Scotiabank, where he served as Chief Executive Officer of Scotia Capital (USA) Inc. and Head of Capital Markets for the U.S. Under his leadership, Scotiabank expanded its prime services business globally, improved profitability, and enhanced capital efficiency. He also played a pivotal role in global collateral management, risk allocation, and balance sheet optimization.

In addition to his experience at Scotiabank, John held senior leadership roles at Barclays Capital, where he led U.S. Prime Brokerage, Global Equity Execution, and Product Management. He was instrumental in developing the firm's global electronic execution business and integrating the equity financing businesses of Barclays and Lehman Brothers. His earlier career includes leadership positions at ING Barings and Morgan Stanley, focusing on securities lending, prime brokerage, and trading.

John holds a Master of Science in Finance from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (dual major in Computer Science and Statistics) from Baruch College. He also holds multiple FINRA/NASD certifications.
